1 Corinthians 13

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Love is patient, It is not easily angered.
Love is kind, it is not rude.
Love always perseveres, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love is not self seeking it does not boast, it is not Proud

The journey that the Lord has been taking me on latley is a journey to love.  Questions like: What is love? How do I love others? How does God love? are questions that have continued to flood my mind latley.  I feel like I have never been tested so much as I have been latley with what it means to truly love like Christ did.

To choose to be
patient and not easily angered.…….
kind and not rude…….
to keep going and not holding past wrongs against a person…..
to not be in it for myself and not feel deserving or entitled to a response. …….

It is really on my heart to share with you the things that the Lord is revealing to me in this area and in a sense reveal what I feel is His heart.

So over the next blogs I’ll share what my journey and steps through and to this have been over the past few weeks. Feel free to weigh in whenever

All I can say to start is that in my struggle with learning what it really means to love others, God has pointed me back to His son. EVERY time. How did HE show love?  What was the way that He responded and responds to people….. and to me?

Romans 5:7&8 – 7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

He was not picky and choosey. He didn’t look at the hearts of men and choose to die for those who were godly over ungodly or righteous over unrighteous. He didn’t choose those who would receive His love over those who wouldn’t.  He died for sinners, for ALL sinners, while were were  all still sinners and seperate from Him. (By the way this just blows my mind. So if I am to be learning to become more and more like Christ, my love toward others shouldn’t be based on a response? more to come on this later)

So while we were seperated from Him. While we chose to stay in our sin, He still chose to demonstrate love to us. He still desired us. So, His blood bridges me to Him, no longer am I seperated because of the sacrifice He made….all for love.

Ephesians 2:13
13But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.

And isn’t this great? What a revelation. The blood. The blood is what makes it ok to come to the Father. That’s what He sees when we approach His throne and it is unconditional love and acceptance because of the choice His son made.  Thank you  Oh God that I am covered by that.

This is only the first steps of the journey……I pray that you stick around to see more of what I believe is His heart for Love.
